Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy said on October 22, 2026, that four vessels had been struck during ship-to-ship oil transfers in the northern Persian Gulf, while three others had struck mines west of the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the Iranian statement, its forces tracked the four vessels after they used routes Iran described as unauthorized. The IRGC Navy said the vessels were struck simultaneously during cargo transfers and caught fire.
The statement separately alleged that three other vessels struck naval mines on October 21 overnight, causing fires and leaving them immobilized. These reported incidents occurred in a different area from the four-vessel oil-transfer operation.
None of the seven vessels was named. Their flags and ownership were not disclosed, and the statement provided no casualty figures.
